From the study it was clear that seedling raising method is also time and labor saving over manual seedling raising. Manual rice transplanting cost was found BDT 30665 per ha, and on the other hand, mechanical transplanting cost was found BDT 22176 per ha and BDT 22949 per ha by seedling raising on tray and BDT 15876 per ha and BDT 16649 per ha by seedling raising on mat in puddled soil condition using ACI Daedong and Metal Asia rice transplanter, respectively. Mechanical transplanting can reduce the transplanting cost by 25% to 48% depending on seedling raising technique.
